SLX 2.5 grinders: coating, sizes and maintenance
SLX 2.5 grinders are designed to limit residue adhesion. The coating is part of their construction, but does not guarantee that no deposits will form. The model version matters: the features below concern generation 2.5.
What the manufacturer describes
SLX specifies a 7075 T6 aluminium body and a proprietary ceramic-silicone coating without PTFE. The four-part version 2.5 has a grinding compartment, removable screen and collection compartment. These are the brand’s stated specifications, rather than the results of a comparative test conducted by Gaiabis.
Choosing a size and version
The 2.5 range includes 50 and 62 mm formats. Diameter affects bulk and grip. Check the product page for the number of parts, dimensions and available variants.
The SLX 2.5 Black 50 mm and Purple 50 mm appear in our catalogue. Features of the newer PRO versions must not automatically be attributed to these models.
Maintaining a non-stick grinder
Remove particles with a soft brush and clean the outside with a soft cloth, following SLX’s instructions. Do not scrape the coating with a metal tool. For persistent deposits, consult the model’s instructions before using a solvent: logos and finishes may require particular precautions.
A clogged screen or residues around the edges can still need attention. “Non-stick” describes a design intended to reduce adhesion; it is not a universal exemption from maintenance.
