Products & legality
Is CBD legal in Switzerland?
CBD is not subject to narcotics legislation. In Switzerland, hemp containing less than 1% THC does not fall under this legislation, but its sale remains subject to the rules of the relevant product category, for example those governing foodstuffs, cosmetics or tobacco products.
A THC content below 1% is therefore not, on its own, sufficient to determine whether a product can be sold or used for a given purpose.
Do your products contain THC?
Yes. Some of our products may contain THC, but always in quantities below 1%, in accordance with Swiss legislation. This level is too low to cause psychoactive effects. All our products are legal, tested and compliant with the applicable Swiss requirements.
What is the difference between CBD and THC?
CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) are two cannabis molecules.
CBD is not psychoactive: it does not produce a “high”.
THC is the substance responsible for psychotropic effects.
Our products are rich in CBD and contain little or no THC.
Are product analyses available?
All batches sold by Gaiabis comply with Swiss legislation.
We publish analyses for selected products from our brand and from brands that authorise their publication. The documents offered on a product page concern the indicated product or batch.
Product compliance and permission to publish its analysis are two distinct matters: reports are therefore not available for the entire catalogue.
Use & advice
Discover our advice on how to use CBD properly in everyday life. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced user, this section answers the most frequently asked questions about using, storing and choosing Gaiabis products. Our recommendations are based on experience, common sense and compliance with Swiss regulations.
Learn how to choose the right form (oil, flower, infusion, cosmetics), measure the correct dosage and enjoy the natural benefits of hemp, without a psychotropic effect.
How should CBD be used?
CBD can be used in different ways depending on the product chosen and the desired effect. At Gaiabis, we offer several forms suited to your needs:
- Flowers & resins: to be vaporised or infused in a hot drink.
- CBD oils: to be used according to the manufacturer's recommendations. Some may be intended for external use, while others are for technical or aromatic applications. Always read the label carefully before use.
- Balms & cosmetics: to be applied locally to the skin for a soothing and natural treatment.
- Infusions & treats: ideal for a gentle moment of relaxation, without psychotropic effects.
Whatever the method of use, we always recommend starting with low doses and gradually adjusting them according to your needs and sensitivity.
Detailed information is available on each product page to help you choose the solution best suited to you.
Does CBD make you “high”?
CBD does not have the intoxicating effect characteristic of THC. However, cannabidiol on its own must be distinguished from a product that also contains other cannabinoids, particularly THC.
The mention “CBD” or a THC content below 1% does not guarantee the absence of risk. Take into account the composition and precautions indicated for the product concerned.
Which CBD concentration should you choose?
The choice of concentration depends on your experience with CBD and your individual sensitivity. There is no universal concentration: each person may react differently depending on the product concerned and how it is used.
- Low concentration (5 to 10%): suitable for discovering CBD or for occasional use.
- Medium concentration (15 to 20%): suitable for more frequent use, depending on the product.
- High concentration (25% and above): intended for experienced users who are familiar with CBD-based products.
It is recommended to start with a low concentration and adjust it gradually, taking into account the information on the product label.
How should I store my CBD products?
To preserve the quality and stability of your CBD products, it is important to store them under suitable conditions. Here are some simple recommendations:
- Keep away from direct light: UV rays can alter cannabinoids and natural aromas;
- Store in a cool, dry place: avoid excessive heat, humidity and temperature fluctuations;
- Close containers properly: to limit oxidation and preserve flavours;
- Keep out of reach of children and animals.
By following these few tips, your Gaiabis products will retain their freshness, aroma and natural effectiveness for longer.
Practical advice
How should CBD flowers be stored after opening?
Keep them in an airtight container, away from light, heat and excessive humidity. Avoid the refrigerator and unnecessary repeated opening. A suitable humidity regulator can help maintain a stable texture.
How do you clean a grinder without damaging it?
First remove dry residues with a small brush. For an unpainted metal grinder, occasional cleaning with isopropyl alcohol may be suitable, followed by rinsing and thorough drying. Do not use this method on wood, acrylic or a delicate finish.
Why does a joint burn unevenly?
Uneven burning is often caused by an unevenly distributed filling, rolling that is too tight on one side, a flower that is too damp or too dry, or incomplete lighting. Distribute the material evenly and light the entire circumference without drawing too strongly.
Which rolling paper size should you choose?
The short format is suitable for small preparations, while King Size offers more space. The slim format limits the width of the paper. The right choice mainly depends on the quantity, the filter used and how comfortable you are at rolling.
