CBCA

Although it is less well known than CBD, THC or CBG, CBCA plays an important role in cannabinoid biosynthesis. It is one of the many molecules that contribute to the chemical richness of cannabis.
From CBGA to CBCA
CBCA is produced from CBGA, or cannabigerolic acid. During the plant's development, certain enzymes transform CBGA into CBCA, in the same way that other enzymes enable the formation of CBDA or THCA.
This step is part of the natural cannabinoid biosynthesis process that takes place in cannabis trichomes.
From CBCA to CBC
When CBCA is heated or subjected to a decarboxylation process, it gradually transforms into CBC, or cannabichromene. CBCA is therefore considered the natural precursor of CBC.
This relationship is comparable to that between CBDA and CBD, or between THCA and THC.
Where is CBCA found?
Like many cannabinoids, CBCA is mainly produced in the trichomes found on the surface of cannabis flowers. Its concentration depends on the variety's genetics, growing conditions and the plant's stage of maturity.
CBCA is generally present in lower quantities than major cannabinoids such as CBDA or THCA.
